Due to Beyonce surprising everyone with her album release, Amazon refuses to sell her latest album. Apple iTunes was the exclusive distributor of Beyonce for the first week of its release, a move that kept Target from selling the CD as they “are primarily focused on offering CDs that will be available in a physical format at the same time as all other formats,” according to an official statement. Afeni Shakur, is claiming that some of those millions are owed to her according to TMZ.
As the co-administer of the Tupac estate, Afeni is suing Entertainment One for $1.1 million in unpaid royalties from the 2007 2Pac album Beginnings: The Lost Tapes. The posthumous LP features songs recorded by the Hip Hop icon in the very early stages of his career.
Entertainment One purchased the rights to Pac’s music in July. The multi-media company also lists songs by Joe Budden, DJ Khaled, and Jim Jones in their catalog.
The lawsuit is also asking for E One to relinquish all of Tupac’s master recordings and unreleased music.
